An Innovative Approach to Affordability: LEAP Housing is taking action on affordable homeownership!

“Homeownership is the crown jewel of poverty alleviation.”

The Problem: Despite the recent slowdown in construction and housing sales, affordable housing remains an issue throughout Idaho. It is estimated that 41% of all families in Boise are considered ‘low income” and that there is a statewide shortage of 22,287 affordable homes. Thankfully, LEAP has a novel, proven approach to help provide affordable homes to those individuals and families that need it most.

LEAP Housing’s mission is to develop and preserve affordable housing while providing empowering services that lead to greater housing stability.

Founded by Idahoans for Idahoans, LEAP is the only non-profit affordable housing developer with a unique statewide focus and funding model to make a transformative impact on the housing crisis plaguing every Idaho community.

Their goal? Create 1,000 housing opportunities for low-income families and individuals by the end of 2026. How? Working with everyone, focusing on one home and one future resident at a time.
